Green Screen

Today I worked on (as I mentioned earlier in the week) a job for "Rescue Me" the TV promo. The day was long! I started my day off with a bowl of cereal, just like yesterdays, and a cup of coffee (since I was not going to make a free cup at the cafe). I ate bfast at 4:30AM, then left the house and went to a studio in Hollywood where we worked on sound stages.
When I arrived my boss gave me a belated Birthday gift:
It is an inside joke, and we giggled about it all day! In front of the pony is my second cup of coffee delivered via Starbucks. I also had a Cliff bar in Blueberry Crisp. Omg this flavor is so good! I first saw it in Tj's and then on fitnessista.com/. I like Cliff bars more and more everyday! This bar was harder than some and had little crispies in it with a very natural and not overpowering blueberry taste. I much prefer this blueberry bar to the Z Bar's blueberry flavor.
The mostly day consisted of painting lots of MDF wood Chroma Green (green screen green). It was tons of manual labor and I feel like I got a good workout from it! Here are some pics of the "buildings" and the stage we put together, built and painted:
Not that exciting but it was nice to get back on a set and do what I am trained to do!
Lunch was at 12pm and it was a real treat. Usually when shooting in a studio lunch can be hard to make healthy. But today we were within walking distance of Grub. An amazing award winning breakfast/lunch place that is part owned and ran by a Top Chef contestant from Season 2 Betty Fraser. "Ba-Da-Bing Betty!" .grub-la.com/index.html The food was great and the place is so cute! I had the Turkey-A-licious sammie with a side salad. It had Oven roasted Turkey Breast, French Brie, Fresh Basil, thick cut Tomatoes, Alfalfa Sprouts, refreshing cucumbers, creamy Dijon and house made zesty Pickled Onions on Cheddar Onion Kaiser. I substituted the bread to WW and the cheese to Cheddar and asked for no creamy Dijon. It was healthful, filling and fun. The menu is full if wise titles and witty descriptions. If you are in Los Angeles you should check it out! When you sit down to eat instead of bread they serve each table a bowl of mixed sugar breakfast cereals like CoCo Puffs and Luckycharms, fun huh? Here is the best pic I could get of my sandwich:
I got off work at 6:30PM and home at 7:20PM. I was officially exhausted and starved!!! I usually don't go that long without a snack, so I made a huge plate of leftover King Ranch Chicken with 1/4 cup of black beans for dinner:In honor of Saturday and pay off for a hard days work; I had 2 of these low cal beers:
Fun fact: 1 Amstel Light has 93 calories!
For dessert I had Yogi Ginger tea:
On the labels of Yogi tea bags they put instpirational words of wisdom. Tonight my tea bag read:Pretty good stuff huh? Along with my tea I had an assortment of dried fruit:

I am now watching "Jon and Kate plus 8", my secret obsession! (Well not anymore:) And later I plan to watch "Stardust". A fantasy adventure movie starring Charlie Cox, Claire Danes, Sienna Miller, Michelle Pfeiffer, Ricky Gervais. Awesome cast and perfect way to end this long day! Tomorrows plans: clean the house, yoga, grocery shop and relax! Hope you all had a wonderful Saturday!

yesterday, run, birthday, and breakfast

This morning I was able to sleep in until 7:30! My schedule has been out of walk and I have been waking up at 4:30 and every hour after for the last week so this was a real treat! For bfast I had 2 Kashi 7 grain waffles with a bit of butter, sliced pear and an orange and fat free raspberry yogurt on the side with coffee! Sean bought a big bag of oranges so I have been trying to eat them up so they don't go bad you will probably see another later today!

Yesterday was my Moms birthday. We spent the day at my parents house with my niece and sister. I forgot to bring my camera cord so I was unable to blog so I will catch you up on my days eats:
nougat with almonds from Spain for dessert
and a chocolate mint cookie!
For dinner my sister made Coq Au Vin, Chicken with wine basically, but very tasty and the chicken was so moist it just fell of the bone! I made a salad with ice berg, baby spinach, a satsuma, tomato, carrot, and red onion with balsamic dressing. I am obsessed with citrus in my salads! And I baked a sweet potato and topped it with the veggies from the chicken!
I had 2 or 3 glasses like this of really good wine from 1998!
I had 3 pieces of cheese, one of each.
before dinner I snacked on leftover salsa they had in the fridge and a carrot
My Sister, niece and I took a stroll for about 30 min and I had this lovely apple before we left. In the picture- Moms birthday flowers, her favorite color is Yellow.
I can never resist some candied ginger I popped these in my mouth when I arrived at the house.
For my Moms birthday lunch we went to PF Changs. For dessert we had fortune cookies, my mom had a birthday candle in a little piece of chocolate cake, but I didn't have any. I like my fortune, perfect cause I am going back to school. A BIG chance!!
My vegetarian lettuce cup all wrapped up for me to eat!
Whats on the inside
My full plate of tastes included- vegetarian lettuce cups ( my fave at PF Changs) salad, shrimp in lobster sauce, a salt and pepper prawn, a little fired rice, a piece of Ahi Tuna, and a crispy green bean. Totally greasy but I never have Chinese food so I think it's OK to indulge a bit.
On my way to my parents house I snacked on these rye toasts and almonds from by emergency snacks. I packed too many!
My waffle sandwich from bfast For bfast I had and orange, 2 blueberry Kashi waffles with a 1/2 tbsp of Peanut butter and a chopped banana. On the side a half container of nonfat strawberry yogurt and coffee!
Before my bfast I went on my first run since back from Spain! I could only go 23 min but I ran the whole time and I will be increasing my time by five min each day. My avg HR was 141, max HR 172, and I burned 170 cal. Before my run I had a Honey Gram flavored Z Bar, I should have just had half because my work out was not very long but oh well. Sorry no pic.

The BIG Spain Post!!!

Since I have been slacking on my daily Spain posts and it seemed easier than I thought to add some Spain food pics to every blog until they were all gone... I have decided to do one BIG post for you all . Let's start with me and Sean.. he is the infamous boyfriend...
This is us before we left in out NEW apt ( not quite finished decorating yet)

This is Sean in the airport in Madrid at baggage claim
This a wine store-i do love wine!
Speaking of wine here is the wine at lunch at Cafe De Oriente which was a really nice restaurant near the Palace and we had the plate of the day (most restaurants offered this and it was usually cheaper than ordering an entree and a drink because it included both plus dessert and a starter) below is my starter salad, lettuce with roasted red pepper, cherry tomatoes and fresh tuna olive oil and white wine vinegar- kind of the staple salad- and my entree: Ham with sauteed mushrooms-so good, mushrooms are in season right now in Spain so they were everywhere

For dessert I had a bite of Flan

here we are in front of the Palace we walked everywhere and so here are some of my window shopping pictures...
Ham legs and cheese, yes they really have these legs hanging- kinda gross I know.
Lots of Christmas goodies!
We got hungry mid afternoon one day and stopped by a vegetarian fast food joint, it was very good and refreshing from all the ham! I had a salad with garbanzo beans, olives, hot peppers, cucumber, fried cauliflower, tabouli, and a falafal ball on the side I of course wanted to go to super mercado and see what it was like. They are HUGE and full of much more than just food and paper towels; they have 9 floors of household goods, clothing, purses and accessories, tools, furniture, appliances and much more! Here are some things I saw in the grocery section:
Their shopping baskets are genius; first off they roll, they are smaller than the metal cart you see above and in the USA, and they are pretty cute too!
Here are a few crustaceans and other sea creatures :)

I picked up some goodies to have for snacks and breakfast- Activia in 2 flavors I have not seen in the USA; Muesli and Kiwi (the kiwi was a bit artificial tasting, but the Muesli was very tasty and had chunks of nuts and cereal in it), dried garbanzo beans (these had a wonderful flavor and the texture similar to a nut but crunchier and they became powdery when you chew them), and some dried prunes . I have never really had prunes so this was a test run and I must say they are delicious but I bet the fresh ones that you ladies discuss are better.

There were a ton of Christmas lights and trees set up in all the main squares all over Madrid
Here I am after a good day of shopping and ready to shower and go out on the town to find some good food and drink!
We all went out for dinner to a very reasonably priced restaurant with fancy decor and simple but beautiful food, here is our table before the food came-full of wine of course
this was my starter dish, it was not very tasty but it sure looks good; shrimp with green beans, carrots, tomatoes and chives in a mustard seen olive oil.

This was my moms- Salmon with brie wrapped asparagus and tomatoes, it was better than mine so I ate most of hers:)

My entree was a salad with cold cod an caviar in a white wine dressing, it was very tasty!

For dessert we all split this french toast like cakey bread pudding like dish topped with ice cream and Cinnamon and a chocolate cake dish. Sean had an Irish coffee in true Irish form-it was very strong!

Well wfewww- that was a long one! But if you can believe it that is not all, probably not even half! So I will be doing another BIG Spain post soon! And I will try to get to my eats from today before I hit the sack!
